What did the text say to the original audience?<br /><br />Step Two: Measure the width of the river to cross. What are the differences between the biblical audience and us? (time, culture, language, situation, covenant.)<br /><br />Step Three: Cross the principlizing bridge. What is the theological principle in this text?<br /><br />Step Four: Does the New Testament change our understanding of an OT text?<br /><br />Step Five: Grasp the text in our town.
